Hello again everyone,

I hope you have all had a good week and are looking forward to gathering in church tomorrow to worship our Lord together.

SERVICES TOMORROW
We have two services at St Columba’s tomorrow, an ALL AGE WORSHIP service at 10.30am continuing our look at the book of Jonah, and a HOLY COMMUNION service at 5pm. As these are quite different services why not come along to both and enjoy fellowship with a wider number of our church family, including those unable to attend the 10.30am service.
For those who are unable to be in church the morning service will be available as a livestream from shortly before 10.30am on Sunday, or afterwards, by going to the following link: https://youtu.be/RulaXBmiwLA

We will also have our regular PRAYER MEETING after the 5pm service. Again can I encourage people to come to the service and stay on for the Prayer Meeting.

CHILDREN’S ACTIVITY MORNING
We are looking forward to a fun filled Activity Morning for Primary School age children on Monday 22nd August from 10am to 12noon in CHURCH. Children are welcome to bring friends along and Parents are welcome to either stay or to drop off their children, but please make sure you bring your children into church and complete a Permission Form.

LOOKING AHEAD
On Sunday 25th September we are going to have a SONGS OF PRAISE service in church at 5pm. This will follow the format we have used before where we ask people to choose a favourite song or hymn and then to introduce it in the service by saying why that song is special to you. I am mentioning this now so you have plenty of time to think of your song and what you want to say, but also so that we can make sure that we have the music organised. Please let me know your song choices by replying to this email and no later than 11th September.

RIDE AND STRIDE
If you would like to take part in this year’s RIDE & STRIDE on Saturday 10th September to raise money for the Northamptonshire Historic Churches Trust and your local church, either St Columba’s or St Leonard’s in our case, then please let me know. We will be cycling on a route still to be decided, but if you would like to join us let me know and I can give you a Sponsor Form. Alternatively you may like to sit in St Columba’s to welcome any cyclists who may turn up during the day and there is a sign up sheet in church for people who would like to do this, as well as a SPONSOR FORM for people to sponsor me – THANK YOU.

ATTACHMENTS
We are grateful to Steve for producing another mind stretching mini SCANS, I thought I was good at Capital Cities but I didn’t do very well with the quiz on page one! Also here is the latest Prayer Update from Hope from Above in Australia and a notice about the need for Hospital Governors at KGH – do have a read and see if you feel called to this important community role.

SUNDAY 28th AUGUST
We have two services again next Sunday, both celebrations of Holy Communion, 9am at Rockingham and 10.30am at St Columba’s, with a very special Summer Holiday Children’s Activity.

May God bless you all in this coming week,

Ian
